Many of you probably already know Alex B. You know him from his vivacious energy he brings to any class he attends. You know him from the kind and loving attention he gives his baby girl Bella when he brings her into the gym on the weekends. You might even know him from watching him on season 6 of Survivor. But now you will get to know a different side of Alex B -- the coach side!
Starting this Sunday, Alex will begin his new gig as Coach at UB!
Here are some facts about coach Alex you might not know...
"I have been a life long athlete. I started to swim competitively at the age of 9, and continued until high school. In High school I ran track and cross county. My love for the bike started my freshman year with a self supported ride down the California coast from Santa Cruz to San Luis Obispo.
I rediscovered my love for endurance sports in my early 30’s and dove head long into triathlon. I raced and coached in the LA area. My favorite people to coach were always the newbies. There is something very humbling to me about helping someone accomplish something they don’t think they can do.
I discovered crossfit in 2008 after I moved back to the Bay Area. My first ever WOD was Nasty Girls (heavily scaled!) and though I could barely walk the next day, I loved it. As we have all hard a million times, the community in CrossFit was one of its greatest attributes. I love the camaraderie and support I feel in any box I’ve every been to.
I crave that humbling and exciting feeling of helping people achieve their goals that I get as a coach. I have been shown a lot of love and support from the UB community over the years and I can wait to return all of it as a coach."
