More than 272,000 people from around the globe competed in the Open last year. As the largest CrossFit community event of the season, the Open ties together athletes from within the same gym to those in their broader city, country and world.
For five weeks, you—and the hundreds of thousands of other people who signed up—are at the whim of the Director of the Games Dave Castro, taking on workouts that may push you to learn a new skill, improve the skills you already have or go into a darker place than you’ve ever been before.
In years past, we have had a fantastic time hosting the CrossFit Open. This year, however, we decided to mix things up! Introducing the First Annual United Barbell House Open!
In order to participate, all you need to do is register for the 2016 CrossFit Open. Participants will be divided into 4 teams. Each team will have a captain and vote on a name. Once the Open begins, the House Cup will commence. Points will be rewarded as follows:
- 1 point for every person on your team who completes the week's WOD
- 3 points for the top 3 placing males/females of UB that week
- 5 bonus points will be rewarded to one team deemed "the spirit of the open" each week.
The winning team will be showered with glory, along with being immortalized on a plaque and other awesomeness.
