With today's WOD being "Tabata Fight Gone Bad," we wanted to give you a SAVE THE DATE message for our (almost) annual Fight Gone Bad fundraising event here at UB.
THE DATE: Saturday, February 11
THE WORKOUT: Fight Gone Bad, of course!
THE EVENT: We call this event "United for Youth," and it's coming to UB for the second time. In 2014, UB and its extended family raised over $10,000 in support of Westside Athletes Association.
THE CAUSE: WAA is funding a Brand X Method certified training course for high school and middle school teachers in the San Francisco Unified School District.
THE GOAL: By raising $10,000, 20 teachers can attend this training.
THE WHY: Well, it's for the kids (duh). But also a great way to compete. Whether to prep for the Open in March, or just experience the adrenaline of a competition, this event is for you.
Plus, there are PRIZES! In 2014, WAA solicited sweet prize packages for the top 3 male and female competitors.
THE WHO: YOU! UBers and non-UB CrossFitters are welcome to participate in the event.
We will announce more details for the fundraiser and the event in the coming weeks.
