On this week's blog, we talked about assembling the ultimate support team. If there's one member you want to have on your team, it's Patrick. He is definitely your brother-in-arms. Patrick has been putting in solid work in SWOD to not just build strength but clean up and ensure he has good form. He is constantly seeking feedback from coaches on how to improve. What sets him apart is his dedication to other members when partnering up. He will make sure every rep and hold is done and is usually one of the last to leave class. We were able to get access to his top secret bio. Check it out and make sure you snag him up on your team.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? After 8 years behind a desk and a formidable "spare tire" to show for it, I decided to focus more on my health. I started climbing again and periodically working out in the weight room at the climbing gym. I saw some progress but ultimately plateaued. I quickly realized something was missing and decided it was time to look into the infamous CrossFit. I've always been more driven in a group setting and figured some coaching wouldn't hurt either. Next thing I know, I'm wandering into UB at lunch and signing up for the on-ramp class.
What is an unexpected way CrossFit has affected your life?: I use to be a day-to-day kind of person, joining happy hours on a whim and getting some exercise in when I had a free night. As health and fitness have become more important to me and I'm coming to the gym 4-5 times per week, planning has become crucial. These days I plan my upcoming week on Monday mornings, accounting for everything from how I'll get to work every day (bike or bus) to when I'll get to the grocery store. This helps keep me focused throughout the week and allows me to do a lot more with my time.
