The Weekly Dose of Awesome

Tomoki is a recent addition to the United Barbell family from Seattle.  Tomoki already had a solid Crossfit background before moving to UB but has made very impressive gains nonetheless.  Where Tomoki really shines is that he is always very conscious of his technique and consistently lifts with virtuosity and beautiful form and does it with a happy smile on his face.  I'm always happy to see him on the sign up list for my Saturday morning classes.

  9. How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I first got exposed to CrossFit because Shelly and I were looking to spend more time together besides the weekend. We looked around a few gyms in the Seattle area until we found our home gym Foundation CrossFit in Capitol Hill. Great experience as they focused a lot on community with a real diverse group of people. Never looked back since!

  10. What is an unexpected way CrossFit has affected your life? A bigger sense of community. At first I thought it would be like a regular gym class but quickly learned that the people/trainers are very inclusive (maybe its the shared experience of going through all that pain?).

  11. What is your favorite cheat meal? One of my favorite cheat meals is cereal... like a large amount of it. I will literally grab a mixing bowl and fill it with a cereal of my choosing (Cookie Crisp / CT Crunch are up there), add tons of almond milk and go to town on it (sometimes with a ladle).
