The UB community has always stood for growth. It's not just about improving that muscle-up technique or getting an extra double-under. More importantly, it's about realizing self-potential in areas other than fitness. Jason Luk has been ingrained in United Barbell's DNA since 2012. An athlete, competition ring leader, community member, friend and now Coach, I've had the pleasure of witnessing Jason go through all of these phases. What impresses me the most is his passion and determination to improve himself to make the community stronger. If you haven't met Jason yet, make sure to drop into his evening class. Congrats Jaybird!
Nickname / Alter Ego: Jaybird given to me by Coach Trent, because of the way I fly on the pull-up bar.

What is an unexpected way CrossFit has affected your life?: 1) Enabled me to awaken the inner strength both physically and mentally I didn't realize existed after having thought I could only ever be just a skinny runner, 2) Balanced my ratio of female/male friendships with more straight guys amongst an incredibly supportive community and 3) Transformed my understanding of the importance of nutrition and getting the body I always wanted!
