Weekly Dose of Awesome - Alex!

Some athletes let their intensity out externally - they growl and yell and stomp their feet. But others have an internal fire just as hot. You have to look into their eyes to catch it. This week's Awesome has a game face like few others. She's always cool and calm, maybe even with a little smile on her face. But look closer and you see the focus and determination. Seeing her finish 17.1 - Rx'd - ONE second under the cap, brought a little tear to my eye. 

I've loved watching Alex develop as an athlete here at UB. When there's something new to learn or work at, I can see her mind telling her body "we're gonna do this!" An athlete with that kind of attitude is on the Gainz Train, and this lady just keeps getting better (she even did her first triathlon last weekend!).

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Christian and I had just moved to SF and we wanted to try something new and crazy! We ended up loving it!
What is an unexpected way CrossFit has affected your life? As a former swimmer, I hadn't realized how much I missed competing and pushing myself towards a goal, WODs have been a fun way to get that back into my life.
